What is your service area?

The majority of our work in the last 10 years has been focused in the Muskoka, Collingwood, Midland and Georgian Bay regions. We love shooting in all scenic areas of Ontario and have developed great relationships with wedding venues, planners and resorts. We also love to travel and visit new places. Opening up our service area to include Ottawa, Killarney, Prince Edward County and other great Canadian destinations such as the Yukon, Newfoundland, P.E.I, B.C., Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia and Quebec.

Do you have insurance and backup?

Absolutely! This is a must have for every professional photographer. We always carry backup cameras & lighting equipment for any location and inclement weather and are fully insured for liability.

Do you think we should do an engagement session?

For sure! Engagement sessions are a great way to get a sense how comfortable you are in front of the camera. Plus, it's time we get to spend together getting to know each other. On your wedding day we will be with you a large part of the day and its always nice to feel like friends instead of strangers. The best part is because it's a ton of fun and a nice date night/day away from wedding planning.

Where do you recommend we do our engagement session?

We offer two different engagement sessions. The first is the Get To Know You session - which is about an hour long with the location being at our local Georgian Bay beach or forest in Tiny. This is great for those who don't know where to do your session or don't have a specific location in mind. Our other session style is The Adventure session- which takes place at the location of your choice. Many clients have a favorite spot at the cottage, hiking trails, boating, skiing etc. Doing an activity together is awesome and really tells your story.

For our wedding, we are considering doing a first look, is that ok?

Yes! We are there to capture you in however you have planned your day, first look or not. We can share tips with you from our past experiences in how other brides & grooms have done their first look.

Are the final wedding images edited? Watermarked?

The final images are ready to print, high-resolution image files. These images are not watermarked. You will also be able to download a copy of low-resolution watermarked images for web and sharing on social media.

How many wedding images will we receive?

The number of images delivered will depend on the specifics of your day (How much family you have, how big the wedding party is etc.) and the level of coverage you choose. An 8 hour wedding day (Our most often chosen coverage time) on average you can expect to receive 600-800 images.

When will we receive our photos?

For Portraits- Your images will be ready on an online gallery within 3-4 weeks
For weddings- Your images will be delivered to you in 6-8 weeks after the wedding day. Our turnaround maybe a little longer towards the end of wedding season.

Can we share our images on social media?

We would love that! A lot of our work comes from referral and sharing of images. It's such a great feeling to see how much people enjoy our work. We do ask for you to tag us #visualroots
so people know how to find us for their images.

What do I need to do to finalize a booking my wedding with you?

Follow this link to send us some more info about your wedding date. We recommend meeting
at our studio for a coffee or over Skype/Facetime if you are not coming up to the area soon.
We will then send you the link to our online booking system where you are able to customize a package, pay the non-refundable retainer and read & sign the contract.
